I’m a Viking?

I’ve always had an interest in genealogy. Recently I took a deeper exploration of my ancestry by using the DNA service from 23 and Me. The results were mostly as I expected, with plenty of British DNA, but there were a couple of surprises, including a good portion of Scandinavian DNA – which must be from Vikings, right? So what does this have to do with business? For every business, especially startups, figuring out who you really are, what your values are and what your mission is, is an important first step. We don’t prescribe to the theory that ‘businesses are people’, but it’s a useful analogy to use. If your business plan is the skeleton of your business – the framework that everything is built on, then your brand is your DNA.
