Custom Baby Announcement

We designed this baby announcement with fun, playful, amazingly happy new mom and dad in mind. We created the custom illustration on the cover to represent the couple– Kelli a party planner and avid baker and Jerry, a super brainy scientist –along with the adorably bubbly cupcake Gigi.
Naperville Moms Network
There were many hours of brainstorming with Kelli Thompson when she had the idea for Naperville Moms Network, and we wanted to create a brand that enveloped all of the ideals of the warm, friendly, fun community of moms that she was looking to create.
Her logo and color scheme needed to be fun, friendly and stylish while still practical to be inviting to all types of moms. We wanted to create a set of fun monograms as well that could look fantastic in small places, but could also be used on promotional pieces, especially since the community is often abbreviated as “NMN” by Kelli and the users.
The website was created in Ning, and we customized the design template to fit the NMN brand as mush as possible. Design tweaks and updates are still made periodically, especially as Ning expands their customization options.
A stationary set was also created for NMN including letterhead, business cards and flyers, as well as a set of promotional items on Cafe Press.
18 Stories Holiday Card

This holiday card was created for a promotional/branding company who wanted to send out a friendly greeting to their customers for the holiday season, but also wanted it to be more than just a flat generic design. The holiday card was designed with the idea of “Bright Ideas & Warm Wishes” in mind to help promote the idea that this company can help their clients to generate good ideas for promotional items, in a friendly and approachable manner with their fun team. Keeping with their brand, we kept the colors, design and typography slightly kitschy and vintage but with a simple yet fun layout. The snowflakes made out of light bulbs ties in the holiday season, but also plays on the “Bright Ideas” theme and the Merry and Bright message on the inside.
Foiled Cupcakes

Foiled Cupcakes needed a collateral piece that could be used as a menu that shows off their unique gourmet cupcake flavors, but that also gave the background and special features as a delivery-only customizable cupcake service.
We designed a brochure and menu that was simple to print, simple to distribute and simple to use for multiple situations. We wanted the brochure to be fun and fit into their brand, while showing off their beautiful photography and getting a lot of info onto the pages.
We also helped finalize Foiled’s “Quippie”, which are small printed tabs that can be customized with color, fonts, logo and images. Standard templates were created and are being used in all of their cupcake orders, and designed fun patterns that help to extend the branding on the backs of the Quippies.
Simple ‘Thank You’ cards were also created with custom illustrations and blank inside to add to their stationary collection.
Sweet 16 Invitation

This Sweet 16 birthday invitation needed to be designed as a CD insert which was given along with a special music CD to all of the birthday girl’s invitees.
Hollywood Glam was the party’s main style and lavender purple was the party’s theme color. Soft hues were blended with shades of gray to give a modern feel, while filigree and damask patterns were brought in to give a trendy, upscale style to the overall design.
CSBarks Dog Festival

Carol Stream Park District (CSParks) decided to have a new and innovative dog event for their 2010 activity schedule and needed a fun look to really grab attention.
We created a small print ad to be included into their bi-annual activity catalog. There were no images available, since this is the premier event, so it opened a lot of opportunities to be creative with vector images and drawings. Even to the point of manipulating a found font to fit the theme.
I also design the framework for the supporting website for CSBarks, which I then gave to their in-house programmer to put together to their specifications.
